Garden clearance in Edinburgh

A planned garden clearance service for Edinburgh

Our only depot is in the east end of Glasgow, and Edinburgh is more than 40 miles away along the M8, so we never treat Edinburgh garden work as a quick hop. Every job is planned in advance, with the crew, the truck and the timing worked out before we set off. That suits the gardens we clear in the capital: long villa gardens in Morningside, the Grange and Colinton, family plots in Corstorphine and Liberton, and compact back greens behind the tenements of Leith and Gorgie.

Because we arrive with a clear plan, the day itself runs smoothly. The team brings what it needs to take down a shed, stack old fence panels and decking, and load bagged turf, soil and hedge clippings, along with broken garden furniture, pots and play equipment. You can be there, or leave us a key and instructions. Rates are agreed up front from photos, and everything travels back to Glasgow, where green waste is composted and the rest is sorted for reuse and recycling.

  • Every Edinburgh job planned ahead from our Glasgow depot
  • Crew and truck size worked out at the quote stage
  • Sheds dismantled and removed, unless the roof contains asbestos
  • Fence panels, decking, and turf or soil in bags taken
  • Items carried up basement steps and out through closes
  • Keys left with us or a neighbour if you are away
  • Green waste composted, timber and metal recycled
  • Ideas for getting rid of old decking wood

Local know-how

How an Edinburgh garden clearance works

Coming through from Glasgow means we plan every Edinburgh job properly before the day.

Planned ahead, cleared in one go

Driving through from Glasgow means we want to finish your garden in a single visit, so we ask more questions at the quote stage than you might expect. How many fence panels are there? Is the shed timber or metal? Are there steps down to the garden? With those answers we send the right number of people and a truck with enough space, and you are not left with half a garden of waste waiting for a second trip.

Edinburgh's booked recycling slots

City of Edinburgh Council runs community recycling centres at Seafield, Sighthill and Craigmillar, and every visit is by booked appointment. Taking a van or trailer means booking a specific slot and showing ID, and Craigmillar does not accept vans at all. For one or two car loads that works well enough, but an overgrown garden can need far more. We carry the lot back to Glasgow, sort it, and send the green waste for composting.

Steps, closes and parking controls

Much of central Edinburgh, including the New Town and Old Town World Heritage Site, has narrow closes, listed buildings and strict parking controls. A basement flat garden can mean carrying everything up stone steps to street level, and a permit bay is no place to leave a truck. In the suburbs access is usually easier, but tell us about lanes, shared drives and gates so we can plan exactly where to load.

You agree an up-front rate and we fix a date, planned around any sale or tenancy deadline you have.

    The trip through

The crew drives through from Glasgow, calls ahead, clears and dismantles everything and sweeps up afterwards.

  4. 4

    Back to Glasgow

Questions

Edinburgh garden clearance FAQs

How is the price set when you come through from Glasgow?
Just as for any garden job: by the amount to be removed, the type of material and the access. We plan the trip as part of the job and give you an up-front rate, which you agree before anything is booked in. Clear photos of the whole garden, including the shed, the fence line and the route out to the street, help us get the rate and the plan right first time.
How far in advance should I get in touch?
As early as you can. Edinburgh work is planned ahead so we can make the most of each trip from Glasgow, and we arrange a date with you rather than trying to squeeze you in. If you are working to a deadline, such as a house sale, the end of a lease or a home report visit, tell us when you first enquire and we will plan around it.
Could I just book a slot at Seafield or Sighthill myself?
If you live in Edinburgh, you can. The council's community recycling centres at Seafield, Sighthill and Craigmillar work on booked appointments, and a van or trailer needs its own booked slot plus ID, with no vans taken at Craigmillar. They suit small amounts of household waste. For a full garden, a dismantled shed or a run of fence panels, it is usually simpler to let us take everything in one planned visit.
Can you clear a garden in the New Town or Old Town?
Yes. Gardens in the central conservation areas are often small and awkward to reach, behind a basement area or through a close, and parking is tightly controlled. We work out in advance where the truck will stop, carry everything out by hand and take care with stonework, railings and stairs. Tell us about any building rules, shared gardens or parking arrangements when you send photos.
I do not live in Edinburgh. Do I need to be there?
No. Many customers, especially executors and landlords who live elsewhere, leave keys with us or with a neighbour. We agree beforehand exactly what goes and what stays, call ahead on the day, and leave paperwork when the job is complete. Anything personal or valuable we come across in a shed or outbuilding, such as documents or photographs, is set aside and handed back to you.
What will you not take from an Edinburgh garden?
We cannot remove asbestos, which matters because some older sheds and garages have asbestos cement roofs or panels, so please mention the roof. We also cannot take chemicals, garden pesticides, weedkiller, paint, fuel or gas bottles. Tree felling and tree surgery are not part of our service either, although we are glad to remove the cut branches once that work is finished.
